PG Section

With increase in the number of undergraduate students in various colleges, the University of Calcutta decided to introduce the Post Graduate course with academic autonomy in undergraduate colleges; and chose our college as the first such institution in the year 2005. The opening of the PG course with academic autonomy allowed the department to independently employ novel and ingenious avenues of teaching, which incorporated the latest techniques of imparting quality education. Regular update of the syllabus meets the growing demands of Industry and Educational and Research Institute. A remarkable number of students have been carrying out M.Tech. degree in VLSI, in Nano Technology, in Radio Physics, in IT, in Computer Science etc. in different renamed University of the state and abroad after completion of M.Sc. course in Electronic Science.

The PG course of Electronic Science during the first three academic session from 2005 to 2007, involved a year wise evaluation, based on the conventional norms and thereafter with a view to improving the process of the academic evaluation of students comprehensibly the department have adopted a four semester based examination system since the academic session of the 2008 – 2009 with evaluation based on the absolute grading system on a 6 point scales.
