Dr. Syed Rafi Ahmed has been acting as Teacher-in-Charge of Acharya Prafulla Chandra College since 1.03.2023. However his association with this college can be traced back to the year 1987 , when he first joined this college as a lecturer in Electronics.

Dr. Ahmed completed his Master’s degree from Jadavpur University in the year 1980 with Radio Physics and Electronics as special paper.Working as UGC Research Fellow in the Department of Radio Physics and Electronics under the supervision of celebrated semiconductor physicist Prof. Dr. B. R. Nag from 1982,working on high field electron transport in sub-micron semiconductor samples, noise in quantum structure and alike ,he has published a good no of Research papers in peer reviewed journals. He was awarded the Ph. D degree in Technology from Calcutta University in 1989.

Dr.Ahmed started his teaching career as a lecturer in Electronics in Bhawanipur Education Society in 1986 and subsequently shifted to A. P. C College in 1987. Being one of the seniormost teacher in Electronics in undergraduate colleges, he has served as a member of the Under Graduate Board of Studies in Electronics in both Calcutta University and West Bengal State University besides serving in several senior administrative positions at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College over the years.
