Dr. Sugata Sen stood first-class-first in Economics from University of North Bengal. After completing his M.Phil in Economics from Jadavpur University, he has done his Ph.D. in Development Economics from Vidyasagar University. Dr. Sen has delivered valuable lectures on various aspects of Economics and Development Studies across twenty-six countries. His well-researched articles have been published in numerous international and national academic journals and books. Before joining Acharya Prafulla Chandra College as Principal he was the Head of the Department and Associate Professor of Economics at Panskura Banamali College (Autonomous).
