Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

About the Committee

In line with UGC recommendations for higher education institutions Acharya Prafulla Chandra College established an Internal Complaints Committee in the year 2015. By addressing issues of sexual harassment and gender-based violence head-on, the committee not only ensures a harassment-free atmosphere but also demonstrates zero tolerance towards any form of discrimination. Moreover, the focus on gender sensitization programs reflects holistic creating a supportive and respectful environment conducive to learning and professional growth.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) at Acharya Prafulla Chandra College are delineated as follows:

  1. Prevention through Awareness:Through proactive measures and educational initiatives, the ICC endeavors to foster a culture of awareness and prevention, aimed at mitigating instances of sexual harassment and discrimination within the college community.
  2. Redressal:Undertake the responsibility of receiving any grievances or complaints from students or staff concerning instances of sexual harassment or discrimination.Upholding confidentiality and sensitivity, the committee ensures that complainants receive the necessary support and guidance throughout the redressal process without fear of reprisal or judgment.

Mechanism

1. Receipt of Complaint

Procedure For Filing a complaint Students and Staff can submit their grievances through

a) Filling up the Grievance redressal form and dropping it into the Grievance Redressal ox next to the Head-of-Institution’s Chamber
b) Submitted online at: Grievance (choose Sexual Harassment option) or
c) EMAIL - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

2. Investigation:

The Grievance Redressal cell will forward all complaints ,sexual in nature to the ICC for redressal.

Upon receipt of a complaint, the ICC initiates a rigorous and impartial investigation process.

3. Action:

Informed by the findings of the investigation, the ICC proceeds to take appropriate actions aimed at addressing the reported misconduct. By prioritizing accountability and due process, the committee strives to ensure that justice is served and that measures are implemented to prevent recurrence of similar incidents in the future.
